When MTA applies

What MTA covers in practice

Ask what happens if the long-term home is delayed past 90 days. Extensions are possible but require fresh NDIA agreement, and knowing the provider's position before you move in prevents a second crisis.

Confirm that the property is genuinely accessible for the person moving in, not accessible in general terms, and check how far it is from the supports and appointments already in place. In a regional area, a placement 45 minutes away can break an established therapy or support routine.
