NDIS Service

NDIS Complex Care and High Intensity Supports — at no cost

Complex care covers high intensity daily personal activities — ventilation, tracheostomy, enteral feeding, severe dysphagia and complex bowel/wound management — delivered by trained workers.

    What high intensity supports include

"High intensity" describes supports that need extra training, supervision and clinical oversight because the risk of harm is higher if they are done poorly.

    • Tracheostomy care
    • Ventilation support
    • Enteral (PEG) feeding
    • Severe dysphagia support
    • Complex bowel and continence care
    • Complex wound and pressure care
    • Subcutaneous injections and complex medication support

    What to ask a provider

Providers differ in what they can safely take on. It is reasonable to ask how their workers are trained for your specific support, who supervises clinically, how they handle a shift cancellation, and how they escalate if something changes overnight. Many people also arrange nursing supports alongside a support-worker team.

This page is general information, not clinical advice. Confirm any provider's training, registration and clinical governance directly with them, and make an enquiry when you are ready to be pointed towards providers.

Common questions about high intensity supports

How do I get NDIS complex care through my plan?

If complex care is funded in your NDIS plan, we can connect you with vetted providers in your area. Tell us your suburb and what you need — we'll handle the matching for free.

    Are providers NDIS-registered?

We work with both NDIS-registered and unregistered providers. If you're plan-managed or self-managed, you can use either. NDIA-managed plans require registered providers — we'll match accordingly.

How quickly can I start complex care?

Most clients are matched with a provider within 24-48 hours. Urgent requests are prioritised — let us know in your enquiry.
