Supported Independent Living providers on the Sunshine Coast, QLD

Looking for SIL on the Sunshine Coast? Tell us the daily and overnight support involved and where — Maroochydore, Caloundra, Nambour, Noosa or the hinterland around Buderim and Maleny — and we will connect you with providers to consider.

My Care Link Australia is a free matching service, not a provider or a housing service.

Coast, hinterland and the distance between them

The Sunshine Coast is really several service areas in one name. The coastal strip from Caloundra to Noosa, the inland centres around Nambour and Palmwoods, and the hinterland villages behind them are quite different propositions for a provider staffing daily or overnight support.

Because of that, naming the suburb is more useful than naming the region. A provider comfortable across Maroochydore, Buderim and Mooloolaba may treat Noosa or Maleny as a separate operation, and it is better to know that at the start.

Supported Independent Living funds the support itself — meals, household routines, personal care, medication prompts, overnight assistance, building independence. Where a person lives is a separate question, and on the Coast the housing market often sets the pace.

How the free matching service works

You tell us what support you are after and where in the Sunshine Coast you need it. Our team reads that, identifies disability-support providers worth considering, and puts you in touch so you can talk to them directly. You are under no obligation to proceed with anyone we introduce.

The service is free for the person enquiring. We are not a provider, we do not hold live vacancy information, and we do not confirm registration on a provider's behalf — those are questions for the provider. You can read how provider matching works or our review process before you enquire.

Questions worth asking any provider in the Sunshine Coast

We introduce you to providers; we do not speak for them. These are the questions that settle most of what matters, and they are quicker to ask than to research:

    • Do you currently support people in the Sunshine Coast, and which surrounding areas do you travel to?
    • Are you NDIS registered, and does that matter for the way my plan is managed?
    • Who would actually be delivering the support, and how is it staffed if someone is away?
    • What happens in the first fortnight — who visits, and what is agreed before support starts?
    • What are the costs against my plan, and what falls outside it?

Common questions about supported independent living in Sunshine Coast

Can you help me find supported independent living in Sunshine Coast?

Yes. Tell us what you need and we'll match you with providers offering supported independent living in Sunshine Coast and the surrounding Sunshine Coast area — usually within 24 hours, at no cost.

How much does your service cost?

Nothing. My Care Link Australia is paid by providers only when you choose to work with one. There's no cost to participants, families or support coordinators.

Are supported independent living providers NDIS-registered?

We work with both NDIS-registered and unregistered providers in Sunshine Coast. If you're plan-managed or self-managed, you can use either. NDIA-managed plans need a registered provider — we'll match accordingly.

Do Sunshine Coast providers cover the hinterland?

Some do, but travel time makes short shifts harder inland than on the coastal strip. Name the town and we will be realistic with you about what that means.

Is Noosa covered by Sunshine Coast providers?

Often, though some providers treat the northern end as a separate area. Say 'Noosa' rather than 'Sunshine Coast' in your enquiry if that is where you need support.
